STARS MDRL and STARS VRS cancels events at Lake Cumberland for remainder of season

SOMERSET, KY (May 29, 2011)—The STARS Midwest Dirt Racing League and STARS Volunteer Racing Series has cancelled ALL remaining events at the Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, KY for the 2011 season.

This decision came by the series came after inappropriate actions by the track owner at the Speedway. The track owner struck the series director in the head after the track owner urinated on the door of his vehicle after being told to stop, the series director then tried to remove him from doing this by pulling his arm away and then the director was struck in the head causing him to hit the ground.

The Series’ next event will be a triple-header of racing action on Friday July 1st at Wartburg, TN; July 2 at Mountain Motor (KY) Speedway and Monday July 4th at Southern Ohio Speedway.
