    Default Squaring the rear

Why do some chassis builders say to offset the rear 2 inches to the left and some say to run it centered in the car? I have a 2004 warrior OWM and it looks like the guy who owned it before me ran it 1.5-2 inches offset to the left what are the advantages of doing that? Thanks in advance!

My guess would be that if the car was built around an offset rearend, and you put a centered rearend in it. The car wold transfer weight differently.

I thought it promoted side bite to have the rearend offset to the left and narrower than the front???

I thought the offest was the location of the center chunk being offset not just moving the rear end over

I have the same problem that i'm trying to figure out whats right from wrong. I have a centered rearend (Pinion in center of housing) and my engine is 2" offset to the left. So in order to center driveline the LR is 2" to the left and RR is sucked in 2" from chassis measurements. And its in factory spec (Harris). I wouldn't want to fix it by wheel offsets cuz that just isn't right and I'm just trying to find input on what people do to fix this.

I'm pretty sure no matter what u want the pinion in line with the output shaft on the tranny. Adjust rear with tubes and wheel offsets.
