UMP Sportsman and UMP Street Stocks Return to Action at Bluegrass Speedway on June 18

Southern Regional Racing Series Visits Bluegrass Speedway for June Jam on June 18

Bardstown, KY-June 11, 2011- Bluegrass Speedway track promoters David and Anita Ferrell will return with racing action this Saturday evening June 18 as the Southern Regional Racing Series makes its first ever appearance at Bluegrass Speedway for the 10th Annual June Jam, paying $3,000 to win for the Super Late Model division.

The June 18 racing program will feature the first ever appearance at the track by the Southern Regional Racing Series in a program of group time trials, last chance qualifying B-Mains, and the 40 lap, $3,000 to win 10th Annual June Jam event. Also in competition on the June 18 race program will be the Clayton Homes of Stanford UMP Sportsman racing for $200 to win and the UMP Street Stocks racing for $100 to win, while the Country 100.9 MIKE FM UMP Modifieds will have the night off. For the June 18 event, the Super Late Models and UMP Street Stock divisions will time trial, while the UMP Sportsman will draw for heat race starting positions.

Activities at Bluegrass Speedway for the June 18 event will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m., while the general admission area will open at 5:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will take place at 6:00 p.m., with practice set to begin at 6:30 p.m. Time trials will get underway at 7:00 p.m., with racing set for the green flag at or before 8:00 p.m. Ticket prices for the June 18 event in the general admission area will be $15 for adults, $8 for children ages 6 to 12, and children ages 5 and under free. A pit pass will be $30.

The June Jam first appeared on the Bluegrass Speedway racing docket back in 2002 and Eddie Carrier, Jr. would take the win in the inaugural running of the event, while Darrell Lanigan of Union, KY would follow up his 2003 Dream win by winning the June Jam. Mother Nature would take back-to-back victories in the 2004 and 2005 events, while Brad Neat of Dunnville, KY would score the event win in 2006. Mike Jewell of Scottsburg, IN would etch his name on the event�s winners list in 2007, while Eric Wells of Hazard, KY would score a photo-finish win in the �08 June Jam. David Webb of Nicholasville, KY would win the 2009 June Jam on his way to winning the track championship, while Aaron Hatton of Mount Sterling, KY would take his first-ever Bluegrass Speedway A-Main win by scoring the victory in a hotly-contested affair in 2010 and is the defending champion of the event.

Bluegrass Speedway last raced on June 4 and feature event winners included Lee Devasier of Crestwood, KY in 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Joey Kramer of Hanover, IN in Country 100.9 MIKE FM UMP Modifieds, Avral Thompson of Loretto, KY in Clayton Homes of Stanford UMP Sportsman, and Mike Bailey of Clarksville, IN in UMP Street Stocks.

Current track championship point leaders are Lee Devasier of Crestwood, KY in 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Michael England of Glasgow, KY in Country 100.9 MIKE FM UMP Modifieds, Robbie Settles of New Hope, KY in Clayton Homes of Stanford UMP Sportsman, and Scott Beeler of Louisville, KY in UMP Street Stocks.
