Street Class ???? 's
Wanting to add a street car to our stable, Givin the rules you have to follow who builds a good motor in central southern Ill that will run legal in this class and what kind of money for such power. Or are these even close to legal to start with and how much power are you getting out of 2 barrel all cast engines.Heavy car I am satisfied you cant get to much. Also are Camaro or T/As allowed to run this class most tracks, or is Metric Monte Olds the way to go ? Thanks for info in advance

Rhyne Competition Racing Engines built a Street Stock engine for Circle track mag about a yr ago. 400ci Had Dart SHP block & heads, K1 crank & rods, JE pistons, solid cam, & ported intake with a 4412 made 452hp. I'd say thats probably all your going to make with a gauge legal 4412 carb & that was probably a $8-9K engine....

We did 508 hp with a 010 block 360, but had pretty good $$ in it, about 10k+,
Small Bowtie Vortec heads, Crower 41 lb crank, 496 gram 6.200 Arrow 300M rods, 357 gram CP pistons, Peterson Wide Vac external wet sump, thermal barrier, oil shedding, and friction reducing coatings throughout.
Wicked lil rpm lover

Yes Todd, by UMP\IMCA standards a SHP block is illegal, this was for the Frank Kimmel series.
C.)The engine block must be cast iron from an OEM manufacturer. In addition to the factory OEM blocks only the GM Bowtie blocks with the casting numbers of 10051181, 10051182 and 10051183 will be permitted.
So why is it that 1 "Racing" block may be used but not another ?? Did GM have their hands in the cookie jar on this 1..... UMP is nothing but politicians.....Will lie as long as $$$ is involved !!!!
