Henderson Motorsports Set for Busy Slate

Laurel, Mississippi (06/22/11) – Henderson Motorsports team drivers, David Breazeale and Leon Henderson will both be busy over the next two weeks although they will be in action at different places.

On a hot Saturday night last weekend, Henderson Motorsports teammates, Leon Henderson and David Breazeale were both in action, but they elected to compete in two different events.

For Henderson, he chose to travel to Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) for a Weekly Racing Series Event, which drew a field of 21 Super Late Models. Via time trials, Leon would lock into the 15th starting spot for the main event in his #10 Henderson Motorsports/Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer/Cornett Racing Engine entry. During the course of the event, he would pass seven cars to record a solid 8th place finish. Full results are available at www.MagnoliaDirt.com.

David Breazeale would be in action on the other side of the state as he entered the $2,500 to win, Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) event in his #54 Henderson Motorsports/Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer/Cornett Racing Engine entry . It would prove to be just one of those nights for the Four Corners, Mississippi driver as he struggled in time trials, and after winning his b-main, he would be left starting ninth in the feature. In the main event David would pass a few cars early in the race before mechanical issues sidelined him to a 15th place finish. Full event results are available at www.StateSeries.com.

The upcoming slate for the two drivers will be a busy one as Leon Henderson makes his UMP Summernationals debut on the The Hell Tour starting Wednesday night at Highland Speedway (Highland, Illinois). Wednesday's event will begin a streak of nine races over the course of the next two weeks as outlined below:

Very sad news from the Henderson Motorsports family, as their crew chief, Wayne Baker, lost his companion of 20 years, Lori Moore, this morning. Lori was only 40 years old and has been battling cancer for several years. She passed away early Wednesday morning.

Leon and everyone at Henderson Motorsports extends their sympathies and thoughts to Wayne and his family as well as Lori's family during this very difficult time.

When arrangements are completed, I will post them here.

Obviously due to this tragedy the team's racing plans have been ceased for the upcoming events and a revised schedule will be posted in the coming days.

    - Ben
