Known for its intense competition, the FASTRAK SE Tour is once again delivering all of that and much more so far in 2011. With six races completed, the series has already seen five different winners! The overall championship standings have reflected this as well with the championship lead changing hands just as many times. Week in and week out, FASTRAK tracks and teams are definitely giving the fans a lot to cheer and talk about.

Jonathan Davenport, Brandon Umberger, David Smith, Kenny Peeples Jr., and Parker Herring have all visited victory lane on the tour so far this season. Davenport won the season opener at Modoc Speedway. Umberger, the only repeat winner so far, picked up wins at Volunteer and Wythe. David Smith, who took over the championship lead this past weekend at Hartwell, also has a win at Wythe Raceway to his credit. Peeples Jr. broke through by winning the Triple Crown finale at Princeton Raceway and this past weekend Parker Herring prevailed at Hartwell to become the tour’s 5th different winner in 6 events.

To this point the championship standings have literally mirrored the races themselves. Davenport led after Modoc, Umberger led after Volunteer, Smith led after the first event at Wythe, Cooper led after Princeton, and now Smith has reassumed the championship lead via his runner up finish at Hartwell. 2011 has truly been one of the most interesting and diverse years. With back to back double headers scheduled in July, fans can expect more of the same as the teams gear up for the summer swing on the tour.

Cleveland County Speedway and Volunteer Speedway are up next for the teams on July 15th and 16th. Cleveland County, located in Lawndale, NC is a new addition to the FASTRAK family for 2011. Owner Steve Mason and General Manager Tami Mullis have been a welcome addition to FASTRAK and they are already preparing for their July 15th event. On the following day, the teams will head to Bulls Gap, TN to tame the high banked clay oval at Volunteer Speedway. Volunteer, a long time FASTRAK partner, has already hosted one electric FASTRAK touring race in 2011. The tour’s second stop there this season should be just as intriguing as the championship battle wages on.
