I would check all of your sensors - Temp wise ----- Also your crank or cam sensor. Just off the top of my head.

89 Civic = OBD0 all the sensors are in the Distributor!

now please listen to me....you can fix the individual levels of the Distributor but its gonna cost, take time, and your prolly gonna break some sh!t in the process!

Bite the Bullet and order a NEW one! or get a known good used one from a salvage yard! just match the plug ends!

Been there, Done that, I had a D19y8 with P29 Pistons and a crower stage 3 N/A cam and Springs. Ran it off OBD0 with a JDM SI Stock computer on E85 with only a Fuel regulator to bump the fuel pressure! ran the Vetech solenoid to the Tach Shift light to control it! its was IDIOT PROOF!

TRUST ME ITS IN THE DISTRIBUTOR REPLACE IT WITH A NEW OR REMAN ONE!

    Go race! have fun!

PS Double check the Fuel pump, Filter and the Sock on the pump First!
