On a 1/4 mile, I would suggest between 6.50 - 7.00 final gear ratio. With a 3.90, what gear is your trans in when you race?

    TH350 in 2nd is a 1.52 ratio X the 3.90 rear gear you have now is a 5.93 final.
    A 4.11 will give you 6.25 final.
    A 4.56 will give you 6.93 final.
All depends on how many RPMs you want to turn.

What is a 1/4 mile track? We run a 650 at 3 different tracks in the area and only turn about 300 rpm difference. One is high banked and claims to be a 1/4, one is medium banked and claims to be 3/8 (but I swear it is smaller than the first one), and the other is a flat track that is smaller than both the previous.

Your best bet it to ask around to some of the other competitors. But I guarantee you will still get a wide range of answers.

Nope, on a real small track, you will want the 4.56 IMO, it will launch you out of the corners. The 3.90 would work best on a bigger track with long straights. What size & type of tires are you using?

It depends on the quality of your motor and parts.

Ive got 14 to 1 or more compression motors and with a 4412 carb I dont run deeper than a 600 on the tiniest quarter mile track Ive ever seen. That gets be 6600 or so rpm..

I run 583 on another small track that a lot of guys run 633 etc. I turn 6600 there. I must have more compression or lighter motor parts than they do.

I would run your 593 if you have it before I would buy anything different.
