    Default camaro rotors vs caprice

will the rotors off a camaro fit on caprice spindles? or would i have to change more then just rotors? i want to keep my 5on4.75 pattern because that's what all my wheels are

If anything Id say different bearings, if you have both rotors and sets of bearings try looking at the numbers on the bearings. Or call a parts store thats no too busy and do your comparisons that way.

Most Caprices are 5x4.75.... so you should be able to get rotors pretty easy. Just get the ones that are NOT police/taxi/heavy duty.

Unless you are just trying to reuse your old rotors on new spindles?

The 5x5 caprice were a larger rotor, do you know if the 4.75 were the 12 inch rotor? If they are they will not fint without some modification as the caliper will be in the wrong place. We ran the 5x5 on an asphalt modified and they were 12 inch.

    If I remember correctly...

The 5x5 rotors are 12" and take a different spindle than the 11" 5x4.75 rotor. The Camaro and Caprice 11" rotor spindles are the same. I'll have to go look in my Hollander interchange manual to confirm that.

If the original poster is trying to change front geometry on his Camaro with Caprice spindles, it won't work, they're the same height. The Caprice spindles are taller than a metric spindle though.

FYI the 73-77 impala 5 on 5 rotors were 12x1.25. 77-91 or so were 11 inch 4 3/4. 92-96 were 5 on 5, same thickness as the camaro rotors and 11.875. Have to use the 92 and up spindles but they are the same height and about the same weight as the camaro spindles.

im not trying to change geo or anything. im building a new car with a caprice clip because my motor builder is giving it to me. my understanding is the caprices were 5x5 and my rearend and all my wheels are 5x4.75 so i was hoping the camaro and the caprice rotors would be a quick swap but i guess thats not the case ha
    thanks
