Wartburg Speedway is proud to announce the first ever visit by the Georgia Microsprint Racing Series on Saturday, August 6. The winged cars come in at a smaller scale than full-blown sprint cars, but pack a punch weighing less than 800 lbs.

Shane Werner is the current points leader in the GMRS standings. He holds a 24-point lead over Mike Magic. Chris Openshaw, Ron Bishop, and Shaun Fitzgerald round out the top 5 in series points.

Since it will be the first visit by the Georgia Microsprint Racing Series to Wartburg Speedway, no driver will have an advantage once the cars hit the track on Saturday night.

Also racing on August 6 will be the sportsman/modified street cars racing for $500 to win along with late models, open wheel modifieds, mini stock, street stock, thunder cars, and extreme cars.

Tickets are just $15 for adults, tier parking is $20, and pit passes are $30. Children’s prices remain unchanged.

Pit gates open at 3:00, grandstand gates open at 5:00, and racing is set to begin at 7:00.
