    Default Pulleys

What pulleys are everyone running on the 604's so you don't have to run a shroud? Ive been battling an overheating problem all year. Fixing to order new pulleys and trying to decide what everyone else has- 1 to 1, 15% or 30% reduction?

i speak from experience, these crate motors want and NEED to stay cool. i would put a shroud on. we chased our tail for the first year we had crates and fought and fought keeping the motor cool. we had the fan 3/4" from the radiator and could never keep it cool. id keep the pullys you have and instead of spending close to $90 after shipping on pullys, i would spend that on a shroud that can almost double your cooling efficiency. we put the shroud on, and got an instant 25-30* cooler. best thing for these crates setup wise is a good water pump, 1:1 pulleys, 4 blade metal fan as big as you can get and a good shroud that fits the fan snugly. you dont need a shroud if you are on alcohol but if you are on gas, you must have one. you will get a ton more useable life out of a crate by keeping it in that 190-210* range.

spend $50+shipping and do a little trimming http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Domina...oud,52439.html

buy this and spend $75+shipping(same as pullys) http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HRE-34307/

OR you could just build your own if you got the tools and some time.
