    Default Gearing help

    1/2 mile track medium banking 2700 bottom end aluminum d port head Holley 500 carb efi intake turn 8100 on 3/8 mile track normally but looking to travel what final drive ratio do you 1/2 mile guys run I'm running. 699 with 2:14 second gear and 327 rear gear

    2.73 with a 5 speed should be close

    dont change tranys, usea 273 w. ur 2nd gives u a 584final or go 373 and run 3rd for a530 final or getta 410 r&p from an arrowstar run 3rd give u a 582 final

    on our teams enduro mustang we run the 214 2.73 deal and only turn about 6500 rpm at the most but its a tighter 1/2 pavement and there 200lap races

    so i guess it depends on the track and how many rpm you want to turn

    A rough estimate in general. For every .1 change, up or down, in the final ratio to the pavement, the engine rpm will respectively decrease or increase 125-150 rpm. -Dave-

    Better to use the 273 second gear combo or the 410 3rd gear I have access to both ratios

    i run 1/2 mile w. 536 final and spin 7800
