Biggest Con: the heads will make enough power even in a mild engine to blow the crank through the oil pan.

IT has been done but those stock journal cams are hard to come by now most are 50mm and up that requires having the cam tunnel bored out which would weaken the block even more.

They also had alot of trouble with the offset lifters for the stock blocks.

Never have had an issue with the lifters in our stock block...well it's a stock lifter location block..Brodix. We run .180 offset lifters on the intake and straight up on the exhaust side. T&D 1.8 shaft rockers..8400 all night 422" 819 hp deal..They are the Crower HIPPO Severe Duty ones....875 bore...I agree with eveyone else, if you try to use those heads to make any kind of power you will run over your crank..

I bought a 350 .040 over block from a cup team last summer it has the sb2 head studs in it and all the nascar motor oiling work done so they must have tried some thing anyone ever see a 350 sb2? this was out of a show car but it still had to run.

the offset lifters and the push rods cause some problems early on. I have push rods in many different lengths and up to .500 in dia.

Might have just been mocked up for the show car. Cup teams got their 358" with a big bore, short stroke combo...We use 3/8" pushrods, and again haven't had problems with valvetrain, but we do keep it down to the 8200-8400 range with a 422" sbc
