Default just starting out with rocket

need help with whole program. i am a single man crew driver etc. its just me so i need help with minimizing the bullcrap guessing and work at shop and track. i am running at county line raceway in nc. have a 2006 black front end car 2''. i have not been on track yet still in prep mode but im very close. car must weigh 2300 steel head motor. have to run american racer 12 48 or 56. i have a rocket manual and have followed it closely but looking for hands on experience on where to start with setup. i am on a limited budget. this is my inventory experienced guys tell me where to put what i have. also i crash alot or i used to anyway so buying the 1500$ shocks is not gonna happen. its not always my fault by the way. i have in shocks afco std m2 shocks valving in 139... 4.5, 3-5,4-0,4,5-3,0dummy,5-3, 5,5,5 so 8 of those for rear. have 137...5-3,3-5,3-7,5-3,5,and6 so 6 of those for front. springs i have are as follows 14'' 175,175,200,200,225,275,and300 12'' 375,400,425,475,500 10'' 300,350,375,550
so what im looking for is packages to run using what i have and suggestions on what to buy. i dont want to buy things twice because i got the wrong thing. it would be great to have a real world steel headed rocket chassis scale numbers with std stuff for me to compare to. also what should i change from hot laps to qualify to race on any given track hopefully one like mine? also i have some lower control arms that have drop shock mount and some dont. is it ok to run half year on one then switch?? is that a big change? i also have many j bars from 18 to 23 should i start with std? basically looking for someones entire setup especially the scale weights that you race with every weekend and % thanks in advance.

i would honestly go baseling with the book ad tune from there. My car is old but everyone i talked to said go by the book to start and see how your doing. Some could be your driving on and off the throttle all tha changes the set up. Just my two cents.

Set your shock and spring package up with the slick stuff leave your bars standard. The only difference I've done from the book is use a 9/0 lr front shock and a 5/7 rf shock with a 375lb spring also I run the lr short upper bar with the frame bracket. Another big thing I've seen with my rocket is keep the lateral location of the rear end checked closely. When you adjust at the track do what the book says its pretty much straight on and will be real close.

For CLR, left front 500 spring with 5 shock, right front 350-400 spring with 3-7 shock, left rear front 4-0 shock ,rear 5-3 with 200 spring, right rear 225 spring with 4 or 4.5 shock. Everything else by the book to start with 40-80lbs of left rear or 180-220lbs of left rear depending on driving style..JMO..

good place to start for almost any 4bar car. i would start with 225s across the LR to start. also, i would start with less LR. specifically the 40-80lb range. it is better to start with a car that is to loose than a car that is too tight when you are first starting in my opinion.

Between the 2 packages, if you light a tighter car go off of the Big RR setup sheet. If you like a looser car then go off of the Low Wedge setup sheet.

Rocket does a really good job at getting a car to drive very well right out of their book as long as you don't have any issues with the car that the book can't fix.

Run it for a night or 2, if you have any major handling issues or questions give Rocket a call, they have awesome tech support.
