Phenix City, Alabama (08/24/11) - William Thomas entered a pair of events over the weekend in his #22 Extreme Power Sports/Mastersbilt/Lamar Hunt Racing Engine Super Late Model and came away with a pair of top five finishes to show for his efforts.

Thirty-five cars entered the event and after qualifying second fastest in his group, Thomas earned the third starting spot for the main event. He would advance to the second spot on lap 10, when second place runner, Ronny Lee Hollingsworth, spun from contention. He would pursue Knowles for the next 24 laps until the leader slowed on lap 34. Thomas would lead the next lap before Jason Hiett raced past him for the top spot. William would chase Hiett for the next six laps before recording a second place finish at the checkered flag. The team resumed action with the Southern All Stars Super Late Model Series on Saturday night as the tour invaded Cleveland Speedway (Cleveland, Tennessee) for the annual Jean Johnson Memorial, which posted a $5,000 winner's check. With 32 cars entered Thomas would qualify for the second starting spot for the feature alongside pole-sitter, Skip Arp, via preliminary action. In the main event, Thomas would race his way to a fourth place finish behind race winner, Chris Madden, Billy Ogle Jr., and Skip Arp.
