Jake Griffin Make History in a Bob Pierce Chassis

Quincy, Illinois (09/06/11) –12 year-old, Jake Griffin continued his impressive season over the Labor Day weekend by registering his eighth ULMA Late Model win of the year and his first career UMP Open Wheel Modified win as he also set a record along the way.

Below are blog-style recaps of Jake Griffin's busy, holiday weekend:
September 2nd, 2011 - Friday night found Jake at Callaway Raceway (Fulton, Missouri) for another double division night of racing at the oval. It would be a solid night for the team as he raced his way to a fourth place finish in the ULMA Late Model division and the UMP Open Wheel Modified division. Full results are available at www.CallawayRaceways.com.

September 4th, 2011 - After seeing Saturday night's program at Scotland County Speedway (Memphis, Missouri) nixed by rain, the team made the trip to 24 Raceway (Moberly, Missouri) for a Weekly Racing Series event, and it would prove to be a historic night for the team. Jake would start the night by powering his #08 Bob Pierce Open Wheel Modified to his first career Open Wheel Modified feature win, and he would back it up by claiming the ULMA Late Model Series feature victory in his #08 Bob Pierce Late Model! It marked the first time that a driver has ever won an Open Wheel Modified feature and a Late Model feature on the same night in Bob Pierce Race Cars. The two wins drove Griffin's win total for the 2011 season to nine. Full results for both divisions are available at www.24racewayinmoberly.com.

September 5th, 2011 - Jake concluded the busy Labor Day weekend by entering a Weekly Racing Series Event at Quincy Raceway (Quincy, Illinois) on Monday night. In the ULMA Late Model division, Jake would finish sixth in his heat race before recording a fourth place finish in the feature event. In the UMP Open Wheel Modified division he would finish fourth in his heat race before advancing to a ninth place finish in the main event. Full results are available at www.QuincyRaceways.com.
