CARTERSVILLE, GA – Crate Racin’ USA, the sanctioning body for the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series and the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series, has introduced its Generation III engine sealing system for rebuilt GM Performance 604 and 602 Crate Engines used by competitors in the series. The new seals are beginning to enter the field of competition.

The new Generation III seal is yellow in color, imprinted with the wording “Crate USA,” and has an individual serial number that is assigned to the engine owner and the authorized engine rebuilder. The economical GM Performance 604 and 602 Crate Engines are sealed at the factory, and by authorized rebuilders, to prevent competitors from making any expensive modifications.

The Generation III engine seal offers new enhanced security features that will keep Crate Racin’ USA, the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series, and the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series on the cutting edge of technology.

“We have been looking at this new seal and doing some testing for almost a year now,” Crate Racin’ USA Competition and Technical Director Tim Sims said. “We are always evaluating our program and keeping an open mind to new technology that will improve upon what we are already doing. We feel we have taken a step forward with the new Generation III sealing system.”

Sims said he has notified NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series sanctioned tracks and their technical inspectors about the new seals and he is looking to make other sanctioning bodies aware of the new Generation III sealing system in the spirit of co-operation Crate Racin’ USA has always had with other sanctioning bodies in the area of technical issues.

“We have made our tracks and technical inspectors aware of the change,” Sims said, “and we wanted to make other sanctioning bodies that honor our sealing system aware that this is a legitimate change.”
