Lightbulb Fairbury Speedway Prairie Dirt Classic $3,000 to win UMP Modifieds Sept 18

The Fairbury American Legion Speedway will conclude their 2011 season on Sunday, September 18th with the running of the 22nd Annual Prairie Dirt Classic sponsored by Lynn Chevrolet Buick, Livingston Stone Company, Schahrer Trucking Inc., and Brandt Consolidated paying $10,000 to win for the UMP Late Models and $3,000 to win for the UMP Modifieds. Hotlaps will get underway at 4:50 p.m., with qualifying at 5:30 p.m., and racing immediately following. All (green) wrist bands from the original race date on September 3rd will be honored.

Format (used by both Late Models and Modifieds)
Both classes will get 1 qualifying lap. No group qualifying. For 44 or fewer cars, there will be 4 heats, top 4 will be inverted in the heats, top 4 from the heats will transfer to A-main. 2 semis, with the top 2 from each transferring to the A-main. For 45 or more cars, there will be 5 heats, top 3 will be inverted in the heats, top 3 will transfer to the A-main from the heats. 3 semis, with the top 2 from each transferring to the A-main.

There will be NO redraw for feature starting positions. Feature starting positions will be based on qualifying times. For example: All of the heat winners will be placed into the feature based on which of the winners had the fastest qualifying time. The heat winner that had the fastest qualifying time will start on the pole of the feature. Second fastest qualifying time of the heat winners will be outside pole and so on. This same placement procedure will be used all the way through. Of all the heat race 2nd place finishers, the one with the fastest qualifying time will have the next highest starting position and so on. This will carry through to placement into the semi-features as well for those who do not transfer from the heats, and also for placement of those who transfer from the semi-features to the A-main as well.

There will be a track provisional (highest in track points from last year) as well as a provisional for the highest finisher from September 2nd's Shootout that does not race in on Sunday.

The Late Model feature will be 60 laps and the Modified feature 30 laps.

    Campers
Camping spots will be marked (20 ft. x 50 ft.). FALS staff will "aid/supervise" your parking as you arrive. A spot must be reserved with a vehicle with no additional spots saved without a vehicle in them (NO CAUTION TAPE OR STAKES ALLOWED). An alternate vehicle may be substituted (i.e. a car may be parked where a camper will go). These rules apply to everyone without exception. ALL camping is "dry". NO hook-ups of any kind will be offered. Campfires are allowed ONLY in elevated fire pits. No fires on the ground.

    Blankets
Blankets can be put down in the "general admission" areas beginning at 10:00 a.m. Gates to get on the grounds will open at 8:00 a.m. You must purchase (or exchange) your admission wristband to enter the grounds. ONLY a body can claim a spot in the line to put down blankets (no chairs, piles of blankets etc. to save a spot in line). People CANNOT save (let people in line) a spot for another person in line either. One person may put down more than one blanket to accommodate their group BUT FALS reserves the right to fill spots with blankets that are not being used at race time. Blankets are allowed in reserved seating ONLY during the races. They may not be put down early (until announced to do so).

    Reserved Seating
Reserved seating (back stretch, top 7 rows) has been available for online pre-purchase, but with no sufficient time for mailing will only be available at the track. There are still many reserved seats available to be purchased at the track. A booth will be setup behind the backstretch bleachers on the day of the race for anyone wanting to purchase reserved seats. The cost is an additional $5.00 per seat.

    Directions
The Fairbury American Legion Speedway is a 1/4 mile semi-banked dirt oval located three blocks south of U.S. 24 on Third Street in Fairbury, Illinois at the Fairbury Fairgrounds.

Rain check wrist bands (FOR GENERAL ADMISSION) for Saturday's rainout are GREEN. The PIT PASS wrist bands for Saturday's rainout are RED.

    Just trying to eliminate confusion.
