Bluegrass Speedway Has Season Finale and UMP Sportsman $400 to win September 24

Bardstown, KY-September 18, 2011- Bluegrass Speedway track promoters David and Anita Ferrell are set to close out the 2011 racing campaign at Bluegrass Speedway on Saturday September 24 as the Clayton Homes of Stanford UMP Sportsman division will race for $400 to win, along with a full program of racing action in all other divisions at the ½ mile high-banked clay oval located just outside beautiful and historic Bardstown, KY.

The racing program for the 2011 Season Finale on Saturday September 24 will feature the Clayton Homes of Stanford UMP Sportsman racing for $400 to win in a 20 lap main event. The 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models will also be in competition at the September 24 racing event, racing for $1,000 to win in a 25 lap feature event. The Country 100.9 MIKE FM UMP Modifieds will also compete in a 20 lap feature event that will pay $500 to win, while the UMP Street Stocks will also be in action in a 12 lap, $100 to win feature event. For the September 24 event, the Super Late Models, and UMP Sportsman will time trial, while the UMP Modified and UMP Sportsman will draw for heat race starting positions.

Of note, patrons that have a raincheck from the July 30 rainout or August 13 rainout events that have not been used can use them at the September 24 season finale event.

Activities at Bluegrass Speedway for the September 24 event will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m., while the general admission area will open at 5:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will take place at 6:00 p.m., with practice set to begin at 6:30 p.m. Time trials will get underway at 7:00 p.m., with racing set for the green flag at or before 8:00 p.m. Ticket prices for the September 24 event in the general admission area will be $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12, and children ages 5 and under free. A pit pass will be $25.

Bluegrass Speedway last raced on September 17 and feature event winners included Jeff Watson of Campbellsville, KY in 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Bryan Barber of Greensburg, KY in Country 100.9 MIKE FM UMP Modifieds, Danny Blackwell of Taylorsville, KY in Clayton Homes of Stanford UMP Sportsman, and Scott Beeler of Louisville, KY in UMP Street Stocks.

Current track championship point leaders heading into the season finale are Tim Rivers of Salem, IN in 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Benji Lee of Loretto, KY in Country 100.9 MIKE FM UMP Modifieds, Robbie Settles of New Hope, KY in Clayton Homes of Stanford UMP Sportsman, and Scott Beeler of Louisville, KY in UMP Street Stocks. Lee and Beeler have clinched the track championship in their respective divisions.

Bluegrass Speedway is located at 2221 New Haven Road at the intersection of Kentucky Highway 31-E and exit 21 of the Martha Layne Collins (Bluegrass) Parkway.
