Bub McCool Finishes Second in Magnolia State 100; Knoxville Next

Vicksburg, MS (09/27/11) –Bub McCool piloted his #57J McCool Logging/Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer/Jay (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)ens Racing Engine Super Late Model to his best ever Magnolia State 100 finish over the weekend as he recorded a second place run behind Billy Moyer.

Bub debuted his 2011 Halloween car over the weekend as he entered the 22nd Annual Magnolia State 100 at Columbus Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi). Fifty-three Super Late Model registered for the $20,011-to-win/$1,000-to-start feature, and in time trials on Friday night McCool recorded the fastest time in his group to earn the pole starting spot for his heat race. In the heat he would race his way to a dominant win over David Breazeale and Tony Knowles.

Via his win, he locked into the fourth starting position for Saturday night's 100 lap finale, and early in the race he would work his way up to the second position as he set his sights on the leader, Billy Moyer. After a couple of near-misses in lapped traffic the race would endure a long green flag run with Bub falling as far back as fifth before racing his way back to a second place finish behind Moyer at the finish line. The lead duo were followed across the finish line by Eric Cooley, Brian Rickman, and Morgan Bagley. Full results are available at www.ColumbusSpeedway.net.

This weekend, September 29th-October 1st, Bub will enter the 8th Annual Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey's General Stores at Knoxville Raceway (Knoxville, Iowa). Thursday and Friday's programs will each be highlighted by $7,000-to-win features, while Saturday night's finale will be headlined by a huge purse including a $40,000 first place check for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned event.
