    Default Freddy Smith

Can't believe this hasn't been discussed yet or maybe I just missed it. Did Freddy hang it up, he has always been my favorite driver, one of the all time greats. He went out on a pretty quiet note.

Freddy was hanging around at some of the Southern Nationals races this summer, so maybe he was working for them.

Yea I can't find his Facebook page anymore. But I remember seeing on there earlier this year that he was getting a car together, but I haven't seen his name all year at any races. I hope everything's ok with him he always was my favorite driver.

I believe at one time Freddy Smith was called Mr. Pennsboro, long before he got the nickname the Southern Gentleman. He won so many races at Pennsboro and hauled off tons of money. Freddy was inducted into the HOF in 2001 along with 14 others.

Definately one of the most down to earth people you will ever meet. 6 or 8 years ago at the dixie shootout Freddie gave me his last cigarette, I am sure he had more but that is beside the point. Freddy is a great man!!!

Freddy had some heart issues corrected over the winter and is still under the doctor's care. He was hoping to be released earlier in the year but it just hasn't happened yet. In the meantime he has been consulting with Daniel Baggerly.
