I'm not sure about race of the century but it sure sounds like race of the year anyway.
I can't imagine anybody that is a big Owens fan or a big Bloomquist fan not being there. Carl might should be thinking about extra bleachers.

I can't believe nobody has commented on Owens absolutely PUNTING the lapped car #18 and remaining in 2nd place on the restart. WTH?

The track looked to be very racey. Why couldn't Owens pass him clean?

That is the way it should be, OLD SCHOOL, get out of the way or get punted. Lapped cars have to start giving R E S P E C T to the front runners by keeping a line and not going all over the track when getting lapped. The lead cars have to make a split decision on which way to go, and sometimes they go to make a move and the lapped car makes the same move resulting in.............3 Points........Good......It's Racing Boy's

it happened last year at the world finals between lanigan and richards. lanigan had to come from the consy and came from around 20th to around four, but he had to beat richards by 2 placed i think. lost by 4 points. it was fun to watch.

if you watch the DoD video looked like 18 of wells slowed and was pulling to the bottom right before owens got into him. wells was right w/ the X car and then he was a couple car lengths back and jimmy hit him. He spun and didnt hit anything but was hauled off the track i would think something went south mechanically.

That was dirty as hell, and the Big O was not leading the race at that time, if the Big O is so good he should not had any trouble passing, the Wells 18 car was no way blocking him like the 17M car was blocking the 44 Smith car in the last 5 laps. Looked like Sugar for the Big O to me !!

I was there and watched the video this morning. I think you are spot on about Wells slowing suddenly. I don't think it was an intentional "punt".

Just watched also...looked as if the 18 had mechanical issues, was off the pace and was trying to get down. JMO though.

Happened 25 feet from me. Wells was blowing smoke and practically stopped giving Owens nowhere to go. It was definitely not a punt in any sense of the word. Good shows at both Dixie and Rome and the points battle will be all the buzz this week!

You are right , but everyone keep in mind , dirt cars don't have spotters or mirrors , so unless they have eyes in the back of their heads, you'll have issuses like this from time to time.
