    Default holley 350 tech question

Correct me if I'm wrong but the correct way to tech a carb with a go nogo gauge is to drop it in. Take your fingers off and if it stays then it passes. Once the gauge is in you should not wiggle the gauge. Does this sound correct??

They are usually go/no go gauges that are set to the factories nominal and maximum tollerance So 1 will fit the other will not.

But no they should not be trying to force the gauge in the carburetor. it either fits or it does not. it will damage the carburetor and maybe even damage the gauge.

The carb was bought new and has 2 races on it. Passed one year and the next it did not. they went and got another gauge and it passed that one. when they placed it in it did not go in and then they moved it back and forth and it slid on in.

you can force a round peg thru a square hole if you try hard enough.

the gauges are not supposed to be moved around and forced thru, this ruins carbs.

sounds like tech wanted to dq you. if you push hard enough youll push the gauge thru most any carb
