wheel offset question

my question is,with most late models running 14 inch 5 inch backspacing,what would be the best offset to run with a 10 or 12 inch wheel the track we run has a track tire and its desighned for a 10 inch wheel so would you keep the backspacing the same no matter what the wheel width is,thanks

12" wheels should be 4" backspaced and 10" should be 3".
