A short glimpse of Pennsboro Speedway from the present back to the past.

That was nicely done! Made a few trips down there between 1983 and 88, and it was a unique place for sure.

Nice Vid. I sure miss the old place, but it is gone, and will most likely never see another race. The best of the best have won and lost there.

Thats great video, thanks!

nice work that was cool. me and a friend went to the black diamond this year for the first time to tyler county and on our trip we went to see the old pennsboro speedway it was pretty awesome

Too bad Eldora is so far away. Looks like all the racing surface (dirt} is still laying there.
The thought of Pennsboro's dirt on Eldora's high banks surely entertains the imagination. Thanks for the memories!

Great video, kudo's to whoever put that together, they did a great job.
We went to the Dirt Track World Championship one time. It was 1991 and Freddy Smith won his 3rd of 5 DTWC's. To this day I've never been in a restroom that smelled as bad as the one just off turn 1, it would flat gag a maggot off a gut wagon! I've never seen more dilapidated bleachers, which gave way under the weight of one of the biggest race fans I've ever seen and it took 8 guys to carry him down the hill on a back board. I have never been to a more rowdy party thrown the night before the big race with a band and all. And................................WE LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT!!
RIP Pennsboro old girl, you were one special place.

That is a great video, sure does bring back alot of memories especially seeing myself standing behind Jack Boggs (purple jacket). Maybe you or someone who sees this can help me out, i am looking for victory lane pics from 1995 DTWC and the 1995 World 100 and also a video of the 1995 World 100, i have moved several times and can't seem to find my pics, if anybody knows where i might be able to find some i would really appreciate it, Thanks [email protected]

good times
I live about three minutes from the old girl and drive by her at least twice a day and I always look over at the old place and remember all the good times and good people I've had the pleasure to meet there. So many drivers I watched race there I still watch today and same for a lot of racing fans I see every year at racetracks I attend. The day I forget about thinking of these good times when I pass by the old place will be the day they bury me.
Thinking about having my wife throw some dirt in my face to hold me over the winter but I can't find anything but mud around here.

In High school I always wanted to make the trip down there in my old bombed out Cavalier but I was busy playing football when they had their races and I had a drivers license. Then I went to college and had an even worse vehicle and was busy playing rugby, Then after that just in general being to broke to make a road trip to West Virginia... By the time I really had my first chance to go it was gone for good. Oh well, I keep hearing it wasn't all that great from people that were lucky enough to get to go... Sure looked great to me.
