Default Foam in fuel cell for alcohol

Getting back into modified racing, after a few years off and have always used racing fuel, but will be using alcohol.

I noticed there is foam for alcohol, to put in the fuel cell, but would like to know pros and/or cons.

    Appreciate your input.

    Thanks.

I have always heard not to use foam with alcohol because it breaks down. Pack it with wiffle balls instead. They work great as a baffle, you can buy them in bulk from some of the sports stores.

    Default foam

I woud not use foam with ALKY it will break the foam down and plug up the fuel system.

I have heard of black perferated drain tile cut to the correct height and fill the cell up. acts as baffles.
I think there should be lifeguards in the genepool.

Foam for alky in a 32 gal fuel cell ran me $240 a few years back. Only ran it a few times before I sold the car. I wouldnt buy it again cause of the price. Stick with drain tile, wiffel balls, or even pvc pipe(drill holes and "V" notch the bottoms. The last few years I haven't ran anything....

I went to using nothing as well. Anything you use is gonna take up space, and in a long race, that may be the difference in making it and running out.

Make sure you drill a hole in one and put your pick up hose inside it so it doesn't suck tight to the outside of one of the balls...
