Anybody ever?
Tried a electric water pump on 604 or 602 crate late model?

We have done water pump testing on the dyno
we always use electric water and fuel pumps on our initial break in and power pulls to evaluate the engine itself.
when we take just the electric water pump off and install a conventional water pump the power drop varies depending on the pump and pulley set up-------(still no fan)
when useing a stage 3 stewart or a victor series edelbrock (black)we see very little power loss at all
our engines are usually outfitted with KRC front kits --which use a stewart pump made for KRC
it is basically a stage 3 pump in a stage 2 housing and also has a very minimal power draw.
bottom line is stick to a quality mechanical pump--- besides what would you do for a fan?------
electric only has chance of working with an alcohol type fuel.---------JMO
