Default barnes pump with kse tandem pump

i have a barnes pump with a kse tandem pump that i bought used. it had a 40 tooth 1.25" wide pulley on top. i bought a bert bell housing and a 22 tooth lower pulley for the coupler. my fuel pressure is too high and i have the largest return pill in the fuel pump. i have read that the pulley ratio needs to be a 1:1 for the tandem pump. i thought that all of the lower pulleys are the same, is there a 20t lower htd pulley for a coupler? they were also running a 3/4" belt would a 1" be better? any suggestions?

If you ran a 1:1 then you would have a 40 tooth lower coupler pulley also.. It sounds like you are talking about a 2:1 or a 50% reduction set up... i think it will be easier to change out the pump pulley, but 22/40 is the standard deal...
