    Default Distributor for 604

Looking for suggestions for a good HEI distributor. What's the best bang for the buck.

Don't matter how good it is unless you make sure the gear is correct for the cam in them.

I understand that I'll need a bronze gear.
I guess I'm more concerned with just making sure I have enough spark.
And do I need to just plug the vacuum advance?

You need a melonized gear a bronze gear won't last, the cam gear will eat it. Plugging an advance will not keep it from changing and you will burn up the motor, You will need an advance lock out kit if your dist has any advance. We always used MSD 85551 if I remember right, never had a single issues and used it for several years.

Brad, did MSD quit selling it in .500? They used to list it seperate from the dist but I do not see it now.
