    Default new ranger engines

    are the newer 2.3 ranger engines aluminum. if so what yr did they start making them aluminum.

    ford started using the new 2.3 in the 02 ranger. the same basic engine in 2.0, 2.3, and 2.5 liters is used in different cars from 03 up. yes the block, head, and pan are aluminum.

    They also share nothing with the old 2.3 Lima engine. There is no provision for a distributor and no carburetor manifolds are available. Is does however make a good midget motor. It is only rated at 143 HP for the 23NS (truck version) that is for RWD
