WOW she was a good singer.

But other than that she was just a joe.

Living a life of drugs and booze doesnt go on forever.

Nothing against her. Tired of this celebrity crap. Just saying.

    Unhappy Such a sad news

    Hello...
It was such a sad news to hear. Whitney Houston will remain a great singer even though her private life wasn't such a happy one.

    RIP...

This is Caroline by the way new to the forum... loves music, mainly violon and just starting to like racing !

I can't remember, did they fly the flags at half-staff when Elvis died. He DID serve in the military.

One less black drug addict in the world so not all bad... It is shameful they lowered the flags when so many have given their lives for this country and they didnt get the same respect.

I was upset to see that they lowered the flag for her. Especially since with her background with drugs. What is incredible was a local Marine was killed in action and they didn't lower it for them. Just sad.

Sorry P Towne missed your post. The same town that lowered the flag for Whitney did not do the same for a local Marine that was killed.

I just did a little further research and found that Gov Christie has indeed lowered the flag for every single soldier, police officer, and fire person every killed in action in NJ. I posted on another forum and someone mentioned that a Marine was killed and they didn't lower the flag for him. I should have done my research before I posted here. My apologizes. That said I believe the flag should only be lowered for those listed above as well as State politicians ( in most cases). I do not agree with lowering the flag for celebrities no matter how great of a singer they were, unless they served in the military.
