    Default Oil tank leaking

i bought a used peterson oil tank with a built in screen on the side. the square plate that holds it in leaks when the motor is running. is there a gasket for this, or will it hurt to put silicone on it? it looks like a machined fit and it would be hard to clean the silicone off every time i check the screen.

The screen itself has a rubber o-ring built in it.If it is leaking, you need a new screen.Be sure to use a 110 screen.

They make the screens in several different numbers.Anything other than the 110 is too course and will not filter good. The 110 is fine mesh but still allows good flow.
