I have run paper filters with no problems, usually a 10" round X 3" tall fram (I THINK its a CA192). Blow the dust out weekly, lasts about 4-5 nites, depending on how dusty track gets.

We run standard paper 14x3 filters, with Moroso foam pre-filter.

We run the KN 14 x 3 round filter with the KN top hat filter on top.Just need to find a base that will clear the valve cover.

your local NAPA..or any parts store for that matter makes an air filter "riser" that goes between carb and filter base to raise it..they come in a 3 pack with 1/4...1/2...and 1 inch spacers for about $7
No matter how hard you try...you cant fix stupid!!!

If you build it right...it will turn left!!!

We get them completely out from under the hood, so we get ambient air, rather than the hotter, under the hood air. We just get a cheap CalCustom, or Mr Gasket velocity stack, cut a 14" base so it has an 8" hole, and rivet it to the top of the velocity stack Seal it up with silicone, and you're good to go.

We have to use a stock 5200 holly/weber carb. Is there an air filter housing made to use an aftermarket air filter or do I have to make my own? I would like to run about an 8 to 10 inch filter. Preferably something I can clean.
