It depends on the brand of shocks you are using and how you define "best". If you are using Ohlins their kit is pretty good; but all of the kits designed to work with their shocks are rather expensive. If your shocks are made by virtually any other manufacturer utilizing a standard schrader valve there are a lot of other options out there that are cheaper. I know integra was selling a tool for around $80.00 but if you looked around that tool was actually a tool used for high end mountain bikes fork pressure and you could buy it through those retailers for less than half the price integra wanted for theirs. If you mean most expensive you can look at some of the all digital units out there.

I'm cheap, so I make the best one for the money. lol

If you have a butler caterpillar dealer near you, or a mine equipment place, or anyone who can get parts of big equipment you'll be in business. I do believe they come in 2 sizes, 1/8 and 1/4, you want the smaller of them.

Get a 1S8938, it's a "chuck", the part that screws onto the threaded shraeder, then has the depressor part that presses the shraeder down.

I used an old HVAC gauge I had laying around, a suction pressure gauge for R-22 works good since it has the right range. Get a couple of brass fittings and you're in business. Might not always be the cheapest if you don't have access to the parts, but I've got around $40 into mine.

Here's what that PN looks like

    Hope that kinda makes sense..

Sorry guys, for whatever reason I never get notifications that there have been replies to a thread on this forum. But, that is the exact unit I was talking about.

anyone used this and able to tell me if it works ok? I cant tell by the pic if it has a shut off and you just loose the pressure that was in the lines/gauge or if you have to take it off quick so you dont lose all your gas.

    Thanks

I have the one Integra sells and have had no problems out of it, It swivels and is easy to get on the shocks, it also has a button on the bottom to bleed off excess pressure.

The amazon one is the exact same thing the integra one is except the amazon one is $30 and the integra is $90. Mine works great.

got the amazon one as well looks pretty nice. Not sure about all the swiveling parts but we will see. My next problem is holy cow nitrogen tanks and regulator are expensive. Heck i only have one gas shock i will have as much in the tank and reg as i will in the shock. Any cheapo suggestions?
