    Default repairing a iron head?

    so basically it looks like someone puched thru on intake runner and fixed it with epoxy.

    would you worry about the reapir and or would you have it welded and reworked..or would you just stay the hell away from it? thanks..don

    If you don't have to pay much for it or if you already own it and it doesn't need a lot of other work I'd rough up the port an inch around the hold and clean it up with a good solvent.Mix up some JB Weld and fiberglass strands and patch it.
    I've got a head with a spot bigger that that been running it for 5 years.
    Lot of guys have hit water when porting and fixed it with epoxy.
    It's so thin around that hole I don't know how well welding would work.

    it has all new valvetrain,cam,guides and stage 3 ported. its $400...i am building a 2.3 turbo motor and im not sure i can pass this deal up..don

    Ran one with epoxy in it for years. If its a good deal then give it a try.

    That epoxy is eroding and has been in there for a while. On the short turn like like the epoxy is probably filling that whole turn in. There is more epoxy in there than appears. I would mix up some fresh, reshape and give her hell.
