Brady Smith Racing Concludes UNOH DIRTcar Nationals; Eyes Illini 100 Next

(SOLON SPRINGS, WISCONSIN) The Brady Smith Racing team kicked-off their version of the 2012 racing season last week at the Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida. The annual ‘UNOH DIRTcar Nationals’ was held at the Daytona Beach area speedplant from February 20-25. A total of six races took place at VSP last week, all of which were sanctioned by either the UMP DIRTcar Series or the World of Outlaws Late Model Series.

Brady Smith, who has been masterful at Volusia the past couple of years, admittedly just couldn’t get things going last week. While he may not have enjoyed the success that he has in the past at the 1/2-mile oval, Brady was able to find his way into four of the feature events. With car counts consistently in the seventies and most of the top Dirt Late Model talent in the pit area, it was quite an accomplishment just to transfer into the night’s A-Main. Brady’s best finish came in the $7,000 to win UMP opener on Monday, February 20, as he won his B-Main before collecting a fifteenth place finish in the 30-lapper.

His results from the six-race ‘UNOH DIRTcar Nationals’ are noted below. However, a detailed race-by-race recap is available to read online at www.BradySmithRacing.com.

The #2 team has returned back to the shop this week and will start gearing up for their next event, which will take place on March 30-31 in the Land of Lincoln. The World of Outlaws Late Model Series will sanction the ‘Illini 100’ at the end of the month at the Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois. A hefty $20,000 top prize awaits the winner of the 100-lapper on Saturday, March 31. Additional information on the ‘Illini 100’ weekend can be accessed on the web at www.WorldofOutlaws.com.
