Ray Cook Eyes Trip to Boyd’s Tomorrow Following Podium Bama Bash Finish

(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) For the first time since concluding "Speedweeks" on February 18 at the East Bay Raceway Park in Gibsonton, Florida, Ray Cook and the D&R Motorsports team returned to action over the March 3-4 weekend at the Green Valley Speedway in Glencoe, Alabama. The 15th Annual 'Bama Bash" was held at GVS and a $15,015 payday was on the line.

On Saturday during the prelims, Ray earned Fast Time honors of the 29 car field during qualifying and later won his loaded heat race. After rolling off from the pole position on Sunday in the 75-lap feature event, Ray fell back to fourth early in the 'Bama Bash' before climbing back to third to finish behind only winner Tim McCreadie and runner-up Mike Marlar. Complete results from GVS can be accessed online at www.greenvalleyspeedway.com.

“Our Bama Bash weekend started out really strong on Saturday,” quoted Cook earlier this week. “I can’t remember having a car that good in the mud like we did during qualifying and the heat race at Green Valley. Then on Sunday, we missed it a little bit and got boxed in by lapped cars a couple of times. When the track took rubber, it was pretty much just ride in line and we wound up third. It was still a solid finish for our D&R Motorsports team and we will get ready to head to Boyd’s this weekend!”

Next up for the #53 team will be one single event this upcoming weekend at the Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia. Weather pending, the Chattanooga area venue will play host to a $5,000 to win, unsanctioned show on Friday, March 9. Additional information can be obtained by clicking on www.boydsspeedway.net.
