    Question Header's Question????

Besides $550. Whats the differance between tri-y headers and standard headers? This will be on a 357/23* steel block/steel head(dart standard port) LLM engine, 4/7 swap roller cam....

4/7 is fine but tri y need a header for the firing order or you will lose hp.You will gain no hp with thr right header but will lose with the wrong header

I got the Reher Morrison book and it says any engine component will always lose HP from a perfect standpoint. He says you have to bolt on components that lose as few as HP as possible. Never thought of it like that.

    Default headers

Try Y's want to be 180's when they grow up (Schoenfeld's words).
Back in the day, just about everybody ran 180's, because they sounded cool. If your engine "liked" them, it would pick up, if it didn't like them, you would see nothing, maybe even a loss.
Smokey once said, in a 2000 rpm range, which most engines operate in, he never found anything that ran much better than a 4 into 1 header.
Long story short, unless you rent some dyno time to see what you engine can benefit from, stay with a conventional header. TB
