WHEELERSBURG, OH-The long offseason wait is over. Cars will take to the high banks of the Southern Ohio Speedway for the first time in 2012 on Saturday, April 7th for the annual Test N’ Tune.

While no actual racing will take place, the Test N’ Tune offers a full day of open practice for the race teams. Many race teams utilize the spring Test N’ Tune as an opportunity to get laps on new equipment, test different setups, and get a better feel for their car before the opening race of the season. For race fans, the Test N’ Tune is a great opportunity to get to see on track action after a long offseason.

With the track resurfaced over the offseason with new clay, the Test N’ Tune holds an extra amount of significance for the race teams. The new clay, which holds moisture much better, is sure to change car setups and will likely change which grooves are the fastest. The new clay in addition to a more evenly sloped turns 1 and 2 is sure to open up the top side of the track much more in those turns. The result should be a much faster high groove which is sure to produce much more exciting racing. Since the Test N’ Tune is held during the daytime the track conditions are somewhat different than what they would be on a race night, but it will still give everyone a first look at how the new clay will change things.

All of the action will get underway on April 7th at 10:00 am and will last until dusk. During that time the track will be open for practice for all divisions. General admission is FREE with pit admission only $10. For those who can’t make it to the Test N’ Tune, the track will be offering a live radio webcast from noon to 1:00 pm of the action on the track’s official Ustream channel.
