Default Biggest Weekend in CLMA History Coming Soon!!!

The Championship Late Model Association DIRTcar Series present by Indy Screen Print will be resuming our 2012 season on April 27th threw April 29th. After having 31 cars at our 2012 season opener at the Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway we took almost two months off before what is on tap to be the biggest weekend of racing in series history with 3 days of racing at two tracks, the Great American Dirt Track in Jetmore, KS on April 27th & 28th and at the Beaver County Raceway in Beaver, OK on April 29th.

With three days of racing and the great pay all three nights we are expecting 50 plus drivers and we already have committments from drivers from atleast 12 states.

The first night of racing on Friday, April 27th will be at the Great American Dirt Track in Jetmore, KS and will pay $1,500 to win and $200 to start. Last year we had 27 cars at the Friday night hot lap session wich would have been good enough for a great race so we talked the track owner, Patrick Johnson, about having a second night of racing that the drivers could use to shake down their cars for the big race on Saturday and pick up a lkttle extra cash. He thought this was a great idea. This race will be a points race for the CLMA DIRTcar Northern & Southern Series, DIRTcar Western Region, and DIRTcar National Points.

The second night of racing on Saturday, April 28th we will stay at the Great American Dirt Track in Jetmore, KS for the 3rd Annual Sunflower State Showdown. This race will be the highest paying race in series history and will pay $12,000 to win and $1,200 to start and will start 27 cars in the A-Main Event. The previous winners of this race were John Anderson in 2010 and Al Purkey in 2011. This race will be a points race for the CLMA DIRTcar Northern & Southern Series, MARS DIRTcar Series, DIRTcar Western Region, and DIRTcar National Points.

The third night of racing will be on Sunday, April 29th at the Beaver County Raceway in Beaver, OK. This track is just over 100 mile south west of Jetmore so it was a perfect fit for an end to this great weekend of racing. The CLMA DIRTcar Series raced at Beaver County Raceway last year with Dilbert Smith taking home the win and we can't wait to get back to this great track. This race will pay $3,000 to win and $400 to start. It will be a points race for the CLMA DIRTcar Series Northern & Southern Series, MARS DIRTcar Series, DIRTcar Western Region, and DIRTcar National Points.

Like I said it does not cost anything to pre-register, just a few minutes of your time. You will pay the entry fee at the gate if you come to the race. So, please send in your pre-registration forms and show that the late models are committed to making this huge weekend of racing a success. The owner of the Great American Dirt Track, Patrick Johnson, is committed to making this one of the best races every year and will be paying out over $70,000 just to the late madels in two nights so please take the time to get this registration form back to him. He has sent out mailings with the pre-registration form to almost 400 drivers 3 time now and it is pretty dissapointing how few he has got back.

Well i sat, and learned European history, and i did not complain. I tried to be open minded, and learn as much as i can. If i can sit through that, why can't you do it. It's not like you are worshiping them. We can't depend on every teacher to teach our history, only if it's being forced. If they could teach it, and be fair we wouldn't need it. Especially in public schools, how would it be fair to teach other races history, and not black?

Story By: Trenton Berry / RacinDirt.com

4/25/12 - (Springfield, MO) With the anticipation for a less than favorable forecast this weekend, Patrick Johnson, owner of the Great American Dirt Track has decided to reschedule the running of the biggest race of the season at the Jetmore oval. "I spoke with a Meteorologist at the Dodge City Airport this afternoon, and he told me conditions weren't going to be favorable for a race this weekend," stated Johnson. "They are forecasting wind chills to be 45 degrees at 7 PM, and between 8-9 PM, they tell me it will feel like it's in the mid 30's. This is with a constant 20-30 mph wind too."

The race will be rescheduled with the same format and purse structure utilized. Johnson went on to say, "When we started this race, we wanted fans and racers to be able to come out to our facility and have a great time. Needless to say, we dealt with cooler than optimal temperatures and a stiff breeze last year. We're not going to subject our patrons, competitors and marketing partners to those conditions again."

The makeup date is preliminarily plotted for July 6th and 7th. There are still a few loose ends to be tied up, and once it's official a new release will be submitted outlining all the specifics. "I'm determined to make this an annual event," quoted Johnson. "We can't build this into the mega type of event, and get it to the level we want, by taking steps backwards. This race will happen. It's imperative we place the fans, drivers and sponsors at the fore front, always. That's why this weekend simply will not work."

To find out more about the Great American Dirt Track visit, greatamericandirttrack.com. Also, be sure to visit their fan page on Facebook. These two outlets will keep you up to speed with the Jetmore, KS oval.
