Dennis Erb, Jr. Heads to LaSalle Speedway on Heels of Trip to Deep South

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) The Dennis Erb Racing team traveled to the Deep South for two more Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series battles in the states of Mississippi and Texas over the March 30-31 weekend. On Friday night, the Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, Mississippi played host to the $10,000 to win 'Southern 50.' Dennis Erb, Jr. timed in twelfth fastest in his group during qualifying and later grabbed the fourth and final transfer spot in his heat race despite hurting a motor. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace switched to a back-up car prior to the 50-lap main event, started at the tail of the field, and advanced past multiple competitors to salvage a fourteenth place finish.

On Saturday evening, the dirt-slinging action quickly shifted to the Lonestar Speedway in Kilgore, Texas for the $10,000 to win 'High Banks Havoc.' Dennis laid down the tenth fastest lap in his group during qualifying and later finished third in his loaded heat race. After rolling off from the outside of the sixth row in the 50-lapper, Dennis unfortunately broke a left rear axle during the race and retired in the eighteenth position. He currently finds himself fifth in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings following the double-dip. Full results can be viewed online at www.lucasdirt.com.

Dennis and his #28 team will stay in the Land of Lincoln this upcoming weekend, as they plan to invade the LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois on Saturday night, April 7. The UMP DIRTcar Series will preside over the ‘Thaw Brawl,’ which will feature a complete show of qualifying, heat races, consolation events, and 40-lap A-Main. The winner of the ‘Thaw Brawl’ on Saturday will receive $5,000 for their effort. Additional information on LaSalle Speedway can be accessed online at www.lasallespeedway.com.
