Dennis Erb, Jr. Captures Thaw Brawl Title at LaSalle; Eyes Lucrative Commonwealth 100

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb, Jr. racked up his third feature win of the young 2012 racing season on Saturday night, April 7 at the LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois! Dennis was fast all evening long, as he laid down the quickest lap in his group during the UMP qualifying session and later won his heat race in preliminary action. After rolling off from the outside of the second row in the 40-lap main event, Dennis grabbed the top spot on the eighth circuit and never looked back. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace beat Brian Birkhofer, Frank Heckenast, Jr., Shannon Babb, and Ryan Unzicker to the checkers to pick up the $5,000 'Thaw Brawl' paycheck. Full results from the LaSalle Speedway can be accessed online at www.lasallespeedway.com.

“It was great to get back on track with the win at LaSalle following the long weekend in Mississippi and Texas at the end of March,” quoted Erb recently. “The track was in pretty good shape all night long. During the springtime, everyone worries about the track being fast and rough, but the surface was slick and smooth and provided for some side-by-side racing. We’ll head out east this weekend to Virginia and hopefully our car will be just as fast out there!”

The #28 team will jump back on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series tour this upcoming weekend (April 13-14) at the pristine Virginia Motor Speedway in Jamaica, Virginia. The 3rd Annual ‘Commonwealth 100’ will be held this weekend at VMS and a whopping $25,000 payday is on the line. Qualifying and heat races are scheduled to take place on Friday night, while the consolation races, $3,000 to win Non-Qualifiers race, and the 100-lap ‘Commonwealth 100’ are all slated for Saturday evening. The two-day extravaganza will be taped by the high-definition cameras of the Lucas Oil Production Studios for broadcast on SPEED, NBC Sports Network, and MAVTV.

Dennis comes into the big weekend at Virginia Motor Speedway fifth in the latest version of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point standings. Additional information on the ‘Commonwealth 100’ can be viewed by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com.
