    Big Bull 50 Pays $1,500 to win for Indiana Late Model Series at Ponderosa Speedway on April 20

    Junction City, KY- April 16, 2012- After the initial press release was put out on Sunday, Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Larry Yantz and co-promoters Chad and Sarah Yantz and staff have some new information concerning the Indiana Late Model Series event scheduled for the 3/8 mile D-shaped red clay oval known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” this Friday evening April 20. The event will now be known as the Big Bull 50 and will now pay $1,500 to the winner of the event.

    The Friday April 20 event will feature the Southern Indiana based Indiana Late Model Series and their brand of Crate-engined powered Dirt Late Models in action, racing for $1,500 to win in the Big Bull 50 lap main event. Also on the April 20 racing program will be the Clayton Homes Modifieds racing for $600 to win, the Ken Towery’s Auto and Tire Center Sportsman racing for $300 to win, and the Bob Allen Motor Mall Street Stocks racing for $200 to win. The Indiana Late Model Series, Modified, and Sportsman divisions will time trial, while the Street Stock class will pill draw for heat race starting assignments. There will be qualifying heat races to determine feature race starting line-ups for all divisions. Super Late Models will not be in competition at this event.

    The tire rule for the April 20 Big Bull 50 Indiana Late Model Series event is open to any manufacturer and any compound that will durometer 48 prior to racing. Chemically altered tires are not allowed and tire samples could be taken. Series membership fees are $25 (temporary) or $100 (season) and there is a $10 car inspection fee.     Activities for the Friday April 20 Indiana Late Model Series event will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m, while the general admission area opens at 5:00 p.m., with the drivers meeting set for 7:00 p.m. Practice laps will begin at 7:15 p.m., followed by time trials at 7:45 p.m., with racing set for the green flag at 8:30 p.m. Ticket prices for the April 20 Indiana Late Model Series Big Bull 50 event in the general admission area will be $12 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12, and children ages 5 and under admitted free with a paid adult. A pit pass will be $30.

    Ponderosa Speedway last raced on Friday and Saturday April 13 and April 14 and feature event winners on April 13 included Dustin Neat of Dunnville, KY in Good Neighbor Pharmacy Late Models, Benji Lee of Loretto, KY in Clayton Homes Modifieds, and Donnie Sullivan of Stanford, KY in Ken Towery’s Auto and Tire Care Sportsman. Feature event winners on April 14 included Brad Neat of Dunnville, KY in Good Neighbor Pharmacy Late Models, J.T. Ayers of New Haven, KY in Clayton Homes Modifieds, and Donnie Sullivan of Stanford, KY in Ken Towery’s Auto and Tire Care Sportsman.

    Current track championship points leaders heading into the April 20 event include Dustin Neat in Good Neighbor Pharmacy Late Models (which will be off for this event), J.T. Ayers in Clayton Homes Modifieds, and Donnie Sullivan in Ken Towery’s Auto and Tire Care Sportsman.

    Ponderosa Speedway is located at 365 Phillips Lane on the Boyle/Lincoln County border, outside of Junction City, KY, just minutes from Danville, KY. Larry Yantz is the track promoter and will present dirt track sports entertainment on Friday and selected Saturday evenings from April through October of the 2012 race season.     The brother duo of Dustin Neat and Brad Neat of Dunnville, KY will make their first ever appearances in Crate powered Dirt Late Models at the Big Bull 50 tomorrow evening.
