Brian Birkhofer Preps for Roaring Knob and Hagerstown this Weekend!

(MUSCATINE, IOWA) Brian Birkhofer trekked east over the April 13-14 weekend to compete in the 3rd Annual 'Commonwealth 100' at the Virginia Motor Speedway in Jamaica, Virginia. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series presided over the huge mega-event, which boasted a hefty $25,000 payday. On Friday night, Brian laid down the third fastest lap in his group during qualifying and later ran a strong second in his heat race.

When the 'Commonwealth 100' rolled off on Saturday evening, Brian found himself starting from the outside of the third row in the 100-lapper. In front of the high-definition cameras of the Lucas Oil Production Studios, the Muscatine, Iowa ace ran amongst the top five early in the race before the handling went away on his new-look #15b entry. Brian wound up retiring from the 'Commonwealth 100' and was credited with a twenty-fourth place effort. Complete results from Virginia Motor Speedway can be viewed online at www.lucasdirt.com.

The #15b team has remained out east this week in preparation for this weekend’s Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series doubleheader on April 20-21 in the states of Pennsylvania and Maryland. On Friday night, the Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex in Markleysburg, Pennsylvania will take center stage by hosting a $10,000 to win program, while the historic Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, Maryland will do the same on Saturday evening.
