Rick Eckert Eyes Hagerstown this Weekend Following Commonwealth 100

(YORK, PENNSYLVANIA) Rick Eckert and his #24 team returned to Dirt Late Model competition over the April 13-14 weekend at the pristine Virginia Motor Speedway in Jamaica, Virginia. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned the annual $25,000 to win 'Commonwealth 100' and the high-definition cameras of the Lucas Oil Production Studios were on hand to tape all of the dirt-slinging action. On Friday night, Rick timed in second fastest in his group during the qualifying session and later won his loaded heat race.

When Saturday evening rolled around, "Scrub" drew the third starting spot prior to the start of the 100-lapper. Rick moved up to second in the running order early in the 'Commonwealth 100,' but battled a loose racecar from the start. Unfortunately, ignition problems eventually sidelined the York, Pennsylvania standout and Rick was forced to retire in the twenty-sixth position. Complete results from Virginia Motor Speedway can be accessed online at www.lucasdirt.com.

With the World of Outlaws Late Model Series off for one more weekend, the Rick Eckert Racing team will enter another Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series showdown this Saturday night, April 21 at the legendary Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, Maryland. The annual running of the ‘Stanley Schetrompf Classic’ will be held this Saturday at Hagerstown and a $10,000 top prize will be on the line. Rick has captured this storied event once before in his illustrious career, as he took the checkers back in 2004.
