Coca-Cola 40 at Lake Cumberland Speedway Postponed Due to Power Failure; Goes April 28

Burnside, KY-April 22, 2012- Mother Nature would delay the Coca-Cola 40 at Lake Cumberland Speedway by one day and the event was set to take place on Sunday evening at the 3/8 mile semi-banked clay oval, but a power failure of the lights on the frontchute of the racetrack caused the race program to be postponed.

All preliminary events were completed, however, all the track lights were functional except for those lights on the front straightaway of the track. After track officials got an electrician to check out the problem, it was diagnosed that the repair could not be in a timely manner to complete the remainder of the racing program, thus, track officials were left with no other option but to cancel the remaining events for the evening.

The Coca-Cola 40 will now take place on Saturday evening April 28. The event will be an entire new program, featuring a $3,000 to win main event for Super Late Models and a $1,000 to win main event for the Modifieds. Also in competition will be Super Dirt Stocks, Sportsman, and Front Wheel Drives. All general admission tickets and pit passes that were purchased on the April 22 date will honored this Saturday evening April 28.

Lake Cumberland Speedway is located at 1 Racetrack Road, just outside of Burnside, KY, just past the entrance to General Burnside Island State Park.
