    Ultimate Super Late Model Series $5,000-to-win 'Saturday Night Shootout 50' scheduled Saturday, May 5 at Volunteer Speedway

    BULLS GAP, Tenn. — The Ultimate Super Late Model Series will make its first of two scheduled visits this season to Volunteer Speedway on Saturday, May 5 for the $5,000-to-win "Saturday Night Shootout 50" which will also pay $400-to-start.

    Also racing besides the Ultimate Super Late Model Series will be the Fastrak Racing Series-sanctioned Pro (Crate) Late Model (35 laps), Modified Hobby (25 laps) and Open Wheel Modified (20 laps) divisions.

    See several of the Southeast’s top Super Late Model competitors' in action on the high banks, along with the East Tennessee chauffeurs. Chris Madden of Gray Court, S.C., currently stands atop the Ultimate Super Late Model Series points leaderboard over Casey Roberts of Toccoa, Ga. Third through fifth in points are Casey Barrow of Savannah, Ga.; Zack Mitchell of Enoree, S.C.; and Daniel Baggerly of Rural Retreat, Va.

    Adult grandstand admission on Saturday, May 5 is $15, youth (ages 11-15) $5, with 10-and-under admitted free in the grandstands. Pit passes and backside tier-parking $30, regardless of age.

    The pit gate will open Saturday, May 5 at 4 p.m. with the grandstand gate opening at 5 p.m. Drivers’ meeting is scheduled in the pits at 7 p.m. Hotlaps are tentatively scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m., to be followed by qualifying and then racing action getting the green flag around 8:30 p.m.

    No coolers or outside food allowed to be brought into the front straightaway (main) grandstand! Coolers are permitted in the pit area and the backstretch tier-parking – however no glass containers allowed.

    Directions to Volunteer Speedway: South on Interstate 81 from Tennessee/Virginia state lines, take Exit 23 (Bulls Gap/Greeneville), then turn right onto Hwy. 11-E at bottom of the exit ramp. Look for track entrance approximately 200 yards on left.

    North on Interstate 81 from I-81/I-40 split (East of Knoxville, TN), take Exit 23, then turn left onto Hwy. 11-E at bottom of the exit ramp. Continue underneath the interstate over-pass and track entrance approximately 300 yards ahead on left.
