So sad could be a great race track if it had the right person to run it. Pretty soon won't be any place to go watch a race in Kentucky.

imagine that and I wonder how many of those tracks closed down because people fussing, feuding, complaining and not being supportive of the tracks just finally ran its course with the promoters.

just another example of how cronic complainers have taken their toll on businesses and cost themselves race tracks to race at. after a while it gets old for track owners and promoters who are trying to do the right things
    whodunnit?

I liked the track, it just needed a new surface and someone who could work it, very nice facility, and yes I agree, alot of people bashed the track, it was nonsense, just the same as Atomic for the DTWC, I just always keep in mind when I see a bad race, "this may be a bad race, but a bad race is better than a good day at work"!!!

Bluegrass needs a potload of good quality clay and a track prep crew that does more than water last weeks racing surface. Then if they could only raise the grandstands so that you could see the cars on the frontstretch. Oh and how about moving the lights to light up the track instead of the people in the grandstands?

Anyone ever have trouble opening those concession doors with both hands tied up carrying food? Pretty hard to turn a door knob with no free hands. lol

I do wish someone would open it back up and make these changes.

The serious complaining didn't come from race fans, though there were plenty of deserved complaints about the racing surface the past few years. Bluegrass Speedway had issues from the start, from people (non-race fans) in the city of Bardstown. Even before the track opened it's first season, there were lots of complaints. It was doomed from the start, IMO.

Bardstown is an old, historical community (My Old Kentucky Home State Park). When you're on the golf course at the park, you can hear the cars at the speedway, even though it's probably five miles away "as the crow flies". I know this personally, because I've been there, done that. Even when things were seemingly great at BGS, there was still plenty of complaining on the political scene. The track is located perfectly for traveling race fans and race teams, but too close to the city of Bardstown.
