We put in a 2.56 with a GM performance LT1 stock cast iron hi-rise and we r gettin 6000 at the end of the straight, before with the lower stock cast iron intake only 5500 with the 2.56..with what sounds like the same kinda rules, mexican 355 & mexican heads. We won with the 2.41 before 1 time, but your right kinda sluggish.. I think we are 86 & 86.5 RO

A 2.56 might be a good option It should put you about rt But like I said before length of the str8s and length of the turns etc Jmo

This is only an ASSUMPTION based on our cars RPM's and current LT1 intake vs past intakes.
    TRANS LT1 STOCK
    350 turbo with 2.52 x 2.56 = 645 = 6000 5500
    Glide with 1.76 x 3.73 = 656 = 6100 5600
    Glide with 1.82 x 3.73 = 679 = 6300 5800
    350 turbo with a 2.52 x 2.73 = 687 = 6400 5900
So we are currently getting 6000 rpm at the end of the straight with the LT1 intake and 5500 with the old GM low intake with a 2.56 and 1st gear only. The 3.73 and 2.73 gear are total ASSUMPTIONS.

yeah I agree with you Dinter any of these combos could work I've ran 373 s before and if it's a track where you can really stay on it a 656 might be a little much now if you drag race the str8s and park in the corners could be a viable option but again I think Dinter is pretty much dead on with the 256
