Default 06 Flexi-Flier Gets Tight when track slicks off

4/4 bar Afco edge shocks, 54% rear, 52% left, 30 lbs of bite, 850 RF, 750 LF, 200 LR spring in rear, 175 RR coil over in front, long biscuit bar w/ no 90/10 shock. Car is perfect when the track is heavy, as the slicks off the car just pushes like a dump truck. Changes we've made are wheel off sets and tire pressures. Reading in other post I am leaning toward moving the J-Bar up on the pinion(right now it is at its lowest hole) the rake is correct for the J-bar. This is the first year racing with the small metric chasis and still learning on how to make the changes to correct the tight issue. Does any one have experience with this issue and what are some of the other changes that can be made? Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance. 1/5 mile banked (Ventura Raceway)

Is the car on Nova lowers or Metric lowers? Also, have you tried running a 90/10?

Are you making any changes between tacky and slick? Might try more stagger if you can. What angle are you bars at?

The car has Metric lowers and the bar angles are LUB 22, LLB 7, RUB 17, RLB Level. We have changed the stagger with little effect. We are going to put the 90-10 shock on and raise the J-bar on the pinion up one hole, which will place it even with the pinion.

Where are you pushing, on entry, center, exit? Is it off throttle or on throttle?

The car pushes off throttle on entry......driver really has to throttle the car to rotate it.

Have you tried swapping the front springs? That should free it up.

The LR has the spring behind and the shock in front, the RR is a coil over in front of the axle. Shocks are the AFCO Edge slick track package.

Both cages are floated and the LR brake is also floated.

It sounds like the car is tight probably when its tacky but since the track is fast you can muscle around the tightness. How much trail in the rr? 850 in the RF of a metric w/ metric lowers is pretty soft. try 950 or 1000 and put the 850 in the lf.
i would also consider adding some angle to the RRL and RRU. raise RRL 5-7degrees that should effect entry only.
1/5th mile is tiny how do they get mods on that thing!!

    Nice video......Looks like a good,little, racetrack.

From what I see, Ur shearing the rf contact patch(too stiff springs)

I had a customer last year who had a Pierce mod(metric front end).

Starting specs for that car were 650lf,600rf,200lr,200rr on a 3/8 track.

Car was still tight so I put in a 600Lf and it freed it up.

That is with Nova A-arms. this guy has metric's.
Car looked tight on entry, and through middle.
I would go up with the j-bar to pinion centerline and try it.
    1 change at a time....

I think there should be lifeguards in the genepool.

    Default tight

If it is still tight, raise RR lower 1 hole.
If it is still tight lower RR top bar 1 hole.
If still tight soften RF spring

Take spring split out of front end or run the lf heavy by 50 lbs will free it up
